Applications are now open for the Foundation Year, leading to undergraduate degrees in International Relations.

What is a Foundation Year?
Our Foundation Year acts as a bridge, preparing you for your chosen degree-level study. You will develop academic English and study skills, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and gain a solid foundation in the principles and fundamentals of your field of study. Successfully completing the Foundation Year guarantees progression to a relevant degree of your choice:

We offer two intakes, providing you with the opportunity to progress to your degree without a gap in your studies after successfully completing the Foundation Year.
What will I study?
Modules have been specifically designed to tailor learning towards degree content knowledge, so you can progress to your chosen degree with the fundamental subject knowledge already in place.
Fall semester:

- Success in Academic Language & Skills
- Introduction to World Politics
- Foundation in Global Affairs
- Kazakh language
- History of Kazakhstan (in English)
Spring semester:
- Success in Academic Language & Skills
- Introduction to International Relations
- Introduction to World Politics
- Foundation in Global Affairs
This is ideal if you missed the September start or want to transfer from a different university.
