The applications are now open for Foundation programmes, leading to Bachelor’s Degrees in Business and Computer Science.
The aim of the 1-year Foundation programme is to improve English proficiency, academic skills and to provide an introduction into the subject. After the successful completion of the Foundation programme students can continue their study with a 3-year bachelor’s degree course of their choice:

Admission requirements for the Foundation programme
- Minimum IELTS score of 5.0 (with no component below 4.5) or an equivalent proof of English proficiency such as TOEFL or CUET*;
- High School Certificate of completion with Transcript;
- Unified National Test (UNT) is not mandatory.

- Select your desired degree and specify the programme of interest.
- Please note that the Admission Committee will assess your application based solely on your chosen Degree and Programme. If your application for your chosen Degree and Programme is unsuccessful, you may reapply for another Programme and Degree.
- A non-refundable application fee of KZT 23 000 is required upon submission of your application.
- Prepare all necessary documents and information to complete your application:
*CUET - To support you in your journey to joining us at Coventry University Kazakhstan, Coventry University English Test (CUET) is offered for applicants. To do this, please indicate your desire to take the test on the application form. Further instructions on taking the English language test will be sent to your email. The CUET will be taken online. CUET fee is KZT 45 000.

Full Scholarships, where Foundation Year applicants could be completely exempted from their tuition fees during the whole study at Coventry University Kazakhstan on condition of maintaining a specific performance level throughout their university years.
Partial Scholarships are offered to applicants, applying to the Foundation programme, who could be partially exempted from their tuition fees during the whole study at Coventry University Kazakhstan on condition of maintaining a specific performance level throughout their study period.
Rules and regulations for obtaining Full/Partial Scholarships
- Merit-based scholarships are awarded based on the decision of the Independent Scholarship Committee for outstanding academic achievements, sports accomplishments, exceptional talents in the arts, confirmed by top places in national and international Olympiads, competitions, exhibitions, and contests, as well as contributions in other significant fields (technology, social projects, etc.), with the provision of portfolios and project descriptions when necessary.
- Needs-based scholarships are awarded to strong applicants who demonstrate financial need through their personal statement. Following the Scholarship Committee's decision, applicants may be asked to submit further documentation verifying their financial circumstances.
- The admission criteria for any scholarship policy rely solely on recognized performance as the main measure for acceptance.
Students considered for any of the full or partial scholarships must submit their application before 5th July 2024.
- Needs-based scholarships are awarded to strong applicants who demonstrate financial need through their personal statement. Following the Scholarship Committee's decision, applicants may be asked to submit further documentation verifying their financial circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria
- Graduates of high schools and colleges.
- Proficiency in English: Minimum IELTS 5.5 (with no section below 5.0) or equivalent TOEFL IBT scores.
- Average academic score of school certificate: at least 4.75 out of 5.00 (95%).
- Certificates of distinction in International and/or Republican Olympiads/competitions within the last 3 years.
- Motivational letter/essay limited to 500-700 words.
- Applicant's video statement (maximum 2 minutes).
- Letter of recommendation (during the application, you will be prompted to provide contact details of your referee. The Scholarship Commission will liaise directly).
Additional Criteria
- "Altyn Belgi" distinction.
- Unified National Test (ЕНТ) score: minimum 100 out of 140.
Requirements to Maintain the Scholarship
- Maintain a full course load in the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Successfully pass all modules.
- Retaken and withdrawn courses are not covered.
- Complete the Application Form when submitting documents to the admissions committee.
- Upload an electronic copy of your identification/passport.
- If available, upload valid copies of IELTS/TOEFL certificates or register for CUET — an online English proficiency test offered by Coventry University. For more information on registering for CUET, contact the admissions office.
- Upload a copy of the high school graduation certificate with appendices to the Application Form as one PDF file.
- Upload the Unified National Test (ЕНТ) certificate to the Application Form, if applicable.
- Upload copies of certificates for prizes in Republican and/or international olympiads, competitions, and contests received within the last 3 years to the Application Form.
- Upload the motivational letter/essay to the Application Form.
- Provide a link to the platform where your video statement will be accessible.
- Provide the referee's contact details in the Application Form. Your teacher, tutor, headmaster, volunteer organization supervisor, etc. may act as a referee. The Scholarship Committee will contact them directly to request a Recommendation Letter.
By providing these materials, you help the Scholarship Committee understand your academic and personal achievements, as well as your financial need. We encourage you to prepare your application carefully and ensure all supporting documents are included. - All grants and discounts will be applied after full enrollment and registration.
- All grants and discounts are applicable only for admission in September 2024.
- All grants and discounts are applicable only for students in the Foundation Year programme.
- Coventry University Kazakhstan reserves the right to modify or withdraw a grant/discount if a student requests deferral or takes a gap year.
- The scholarship will be awarded at the discretion of Coventry University Kazakhstan based on the decision of the Independent Scholarship Committee.
- The scholarship is available only for students self-financing their education; students receiving sponsorship are not eligible.
- The scholarship cannot be combined with any other discounts within the university.
- The university's decision on the interpretation of selection criteria is final and cannot be appealed. You must fulfill all requests for additional information to confirm your eligibility within specified deadlines.
- Coventry University Kazakhstan reserves the right to withdraw the discount from anyone found to have misled the University regarding any aspect of their eligibility for the programme and may require the repayment of any funds already disbursed accordingly.
- You have no right to appeal the university's decision regarding your eligibility for the discount. You may submit a complaint if you believe your right to the discount was not considered due to a procedural error.
