Coventry University Kazakhstan: Higher Education Hub for Central Asia

Coventry University Kazakhstan (CUK) and Landau Education Group (LEG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Baku, marking an important milestone in strengthening academic collaboration and cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The agreement was signed by the President and Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University Kazakhstan, Mr. Miras Daulenov, and the Chief Executive Officer of Landau Education Group, Mr. Rashad Tagiyev.

The partnership aims to foster closer educational ties between the two countries and expand opportunities for Azerbaijani students to pursue internationally recognized higher education in Kazakhstan. With Coventry University Kazakhstan’s growing presence in Astana and Almaty, the agreement opens new pathways for students seeking high-quality education and global academic experiences within the region.

As part of the visit, the Coventry University Kazakhstan delegation held meetings with several key subsidiaries of Landau Education Group, including Landau Academy, Hazirliq Mektebi, and Admitt- Education Abroad. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in student recruitment, academic preparation, and guidance for Azerbaijani students interested in studying in Kazakhstan.

Representatives from both institutions also explored opportunities to develop joint initiatives aimed at enhancing academic mobility and supporting students throughout their educational journey. The conversations highlighted the growing interest among Azerbaijani students in

studying in Kazakhstan, particularly in cities such as Astana and Almaty, where Coventry University Kazakhstan offers internationally accredited British degrees.

The signing of the MoU reflects the shared commitment of Coventry University Kazakhstan and Landau Education Group to building strong international partnerships and creating new opportunities for students to access high-quality education and cross-cultural learning experiences.

Background: Coventry University was founded in 1843. Today, the University is highly recognised for the quality of its education both in the United Kingdom and internationally — across Europe, Africa,and Asia. Its educational excellence has been confirmed by the UK Government’s prestigious Gold award under the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), granted to only around 40 out of 130 British universities. According to the THE World University Rankings, the university is among the top 100 universities worldwide for "International Outlook" and ranks third in the UK for its number of international students.
